The Wonders of a Vessel Sink

So, Eve loves water. She loves everything about it. But, most of all she loves to do what I consider "wasting water" in our little half bath. I turn the water on at a dribble and she strains to reach it and lets it flow over her fingers. Then, to relish it more, she puts her wet hand in her mouth and sucks off all the water. Then, she looks though the glass of the sink and talks (or rather instructs) the flow of water. Repeat process over and over and that's her idea of a good time.

Water Wing Wonders

Eve loves her water wings. She has NO idea what they're for because she's never used them in the water and, to my knowledge, she's never seen anyone else use them. But, that doesn't stop her from thinking they're the coolest. She wears them everywhere.

Vivi Helping

A picture of Eve helping me take pictures of my slings. I was lucky to get a photo of her BESIDE the sling, instead of on top of it.

Eve in her Sailor Dress

A picture of Eve that I took today in her sailor dress. You can see that she'd been in the stroller for a while, hence the wrinkeled dress.

Blueberries for Eve

Yep, we're still here... just busy.

Here's Eve enjoying the Summer's bounty.

The Ball Machine

My generous sister-in-law, Kate, passed down a ball machine that “her kids” didn’t want anymore. I say “her kids” because I now think that she secretly has hostile feelings toward the machine. I know this because; I now feel the same way.

Samuel woke up for the day at 2:30am so, when Eve woke up at 6:30, I pulled out some toys and thought I’d just lie on the couch and rest. The nice, quiet toys that I pulled out were abandoned and I heard the sound of a heavy, plastic toy being dragged over our Berber carpeting. The Beast was being dragged from storage to a more convenient location – next to my head. The button was pushed and a song that sounds like a bee on speed cranked up, only to be followed by “Rockin’ Robin” with a multiple personality disorder. I had to laugh at how completely annoying the entire, sleep-deprived experience was.

Stay away from the sippy!

Big Girl

It was a beautiful day in Annapolis and Eve and I spent some time in the yard. At 15 months with a bit more hair and walking around, she seems like more of a little girl than a baby to me.

Reading with Papa

The "do" was done with Aunt Kate in mind. It stayed in... kind of... for an hour anyway.

The Bum Boogie

Eve's new little trick. She gets so excited when she hears the fan run in my bathroom. She comes in to watch me get ready for the day and is entirely to proud of herself for being able to make so much noise with the shower door.

"Good-bye, Papa"

Eve watching Tim leave in the car. He'd just said "bye" to her and she was intently following his departure.

Kumquat

So, this morning, I came up stairs with 4 kumquats. However, when I arrived at my destination, the computer, I realized that I only had 3 in my possession. Hmmm.... perhaps I just THOUGHT I started out with 4. Later, I hear Eve sputtering and spitting. I can see her back and she's playing with her Little People. Sputtering and spitting continue and I look to see that she's found the kumquat and is dramatically still spitting out the remnants while assaulting the kumquat with little people. So, now, the kumquat is squat and Eve is satisfied with her revenge. It's lying, mangeled in Noah's Ark.

Eve Playing With Toys

I took this in Eve's room. The first clip is a wonderful example of the kind of footage I like to get - Eve playing and NOT assaulting the camera. The second clip is what usually happens.

Eve Arranges the Furniture

Ahhh, now if I can just get her to move the furniture when I vacuum. This has become a favorite past time and, amazingly, our walls aren't any worse for the wear.

Eve Catching Water

A video of Eve trying to catch the water during bathtime.

Today, my little helper helped me do the laundry by loading dirty clothes into the dryer as I was putting in clean ones from the washer.
