Here are a few highlights from October. Eve and I were both butterfly themed for Halloween. We both did our OWN make-up.

Still Here
Yes, the Feist Family is still here. Things have just been a bit crazy (mostly self inflicted but also inflicted by natural disaster - see first photo).
Samuel fractured his leg a month ago. He only had his cast on for 2 weeks but during that 2 weeks, he tried hard to break the other leg. It did NOT slow him down only added to his drive to do more daring adventures. As you can see from the second photo, he's up and going again. Samuel's favorite past time (when not breaking body parts) is to torment his sister.
Eve and Tim love making pancakes that look like fish. It's kind of a Saturday morning treat that they both love. I finialy captured it on digital.
And, Sam is trying to learn how to eat like a civilized human. Or, perhaps, I'm trying to impose civility on him. Either way, flatware is in the house.
As for me, I'm starting to design and make flower girl dresses out of my silk. I wonder why I haven't done it before, it's just so much fun. The reason I'm so busy with it is that I've taken out an ad in What's Up Annapolis Weddings that was so expensive that I screamed all the way to my checkbook. I've got to make it work so, designing a couple of dresses and getting great photos of them is in order. Of course, I"ll post the photos when I'm done. I'm also working on some bridesmaid seperates to be up and running before the ad hits in the Spring.

WANTED:
So, the only reason that I know I'm not loosing my entire mind is that I have this empty "See Kai Run" shoe box. In the box, there is supposed to be a brand new pair of shoes that I ordered off the Internet for Samuel. At one point, the box did indeed have shoes in it. And, I can verify that they were on the premises for at least an hour. During that hour, I was letting Eve play with them. Now, they are no where to be found and for the past 2 days I've been going crazy. I think I've looked everywhere at least 5 times. I've made up so many scenario possibilities that I can't tell truth from fiction any more. I've looked in the oven, the freezer, and all the usual places. I HAVE thought that, in a moment of cleaning up panic, I put them somewhere. But, there are only so many places one can put two toddler shoes in a 1400 square foot house.
It's mind boggling. If you find them, please let me know.

Fun with the Feists
We've been having a wonderful time in Oklahoma. The first part of our trip was spent with the Feist side of the family. The ultimate highlight (besides seeing everyone) was going to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Before you wonder just how great an aquarium in Oklahoma can be, let me just say that it's amazing. Eve is obcessed with fish and this was the biggest and best "fish house" that she's ever seen.
Walking in the shark tunnel. Note the shark swimming toward Eve on the left. This experience has caused Eve to like sharks even more. I haven't yet told her about Jaws. And, it's nice that way.Saturday, June 26, 2010
Some Recent Photos
Eve loves her Lammie and I love these photos of her with Lammie that my friend, Rita, took. She also got THE CUTEST photos of Samuel crawling. Hope you can see thier personalities in the photos as much as I can.
We're heading to Oklahoma to see the clans out there and looking forward to it (well, maybe not the "heading out" part). We're not sure if we're insane or not. We're here in Maryland, complaining about the 95 degree weather and we're heading to Oklahoma in JULY of all months. Hmmmmm.....

For those of you who don't know
For anyone who hasn't gotten the word, I'm having a nursing cover-up giveaway at Vivi Uptown Infants. They make great gifts so, even if you don't need one, enter and I'll write up a gift certificate so the mom you know can pick out her own on her own time.

Eve + Sam + Sprinkler
Yes, it's summer and that means water and lots of it. Sprinklers are always a hit and this year they're even better because Samuel can get involved.
As you can see, taking video is still a bit of a challenge because Eve can't resist the urge to put her nose on the camera lense and say "cheese".

Stachys byzantina
Lambs Ear. Eve, like most children her age, loves the soft fuzziness of this plant. And, it's one of the only plants I actually let her pick the leaves off of in the garden. She's been a bit perplexed by the name. Her favorite stuffed toy is a lamb and is, appropriately, named "Lamie". Yesterday, I found Eve walking around with stuff sticking out of her ears. Upon further inspection, I discovered that it was, indeed, lambs ear. She pointed to it and said "Lamie". So, if you come to my house and see green fuzz growing out of my daughter's ear. It's not because I don't clean her ears.

Hanging Out
It is beautiful weather in Annapolis and mosquito free so, we've been spending time on the front lawn with the neighbors. Of course, this means that everyone gets lots of treats from all the grandparents on the court. So, it's a very popular thing to do.
We're potty training Eve. It went amazing the first day but since then, she's realized that she has bartering power and that her pee isn't something I want on the carpet. We've had to improvize a little but I'm hoping "everything" will come out okay in the end

Fabulous Night Out
So, Tim and I had a wonderful night out last night... thanks to the USNA history department, our friends, and my parents. It wasn't a "serious" kind of formal so, I thought glam and fun would be in order for our attire. Several of you have expressed deep interest in seeing what I came up with so, here it is. Nothing like having 200 colors of handwoven dupioni silk at my fingertips for fabulous inspiration and complete matchy - matchy.
